Verified, not just claimed

Most altitude supplements round potency to a marketing number and skip independent testing entirely. We publish the actual result, every batch.

One real combination. No filler.

No proprietary blends, no trendy adaptogens added for the label. If a randomized trial hasn't tested it, it doesn't go in the tablet — including ingredients we used to sell. Select any ingredient below.

500MG / DAY — VERIFIED

Vitamin C

Naturally found in strawberries and citrus. Dosed at roughly half the amount used in the original study — oral absorption saturates well before the full studied dose, so this isn't a corner cut, it's close to the point of diminishing returns.

200 IU / DAY — VERIFIED

Vitamin E

Naturally found in almonds and sunflower seeds. Studied alongside vitamin C and alpha-lipoic acid in climbers ascending past 5,000m — part of the combination, not a standalone claim.

300MG / DAY — VERIFIED

Alpha-Lipoic Acid

Naturally found in spinach and broccoli. The third ingredient in the actual studied stack — most brands quietly drop it and call the remaining two the same combination. We didn't. A larger follow-up trial (n=83) didn't replicate the original benefit — we say so in "Honest Take," not just here.

500MG / DAY — VERIFIED · STANDARDIZED 5% GINGEROLS

Ginger Extract

A standardized extract, not raw powder — raw ginger's gingerol content varies too much batch to batch to verify honestly. Well-evidenced as a general antiemetic (surgery, chemotherapy, pregnancy). Not specifically trialed for altitude sickness — but nausea is one of the four core symptoms doctors use to diagnose it, and nausea is nausea.

REMOVED

Rhodiola Crenulata

Our original hero ingredient, from a mountain root. A rigorous randomized controlled trial (n=102) later showed no significant benefit over placebo. We removed it rather than keep the story.

REMOVED

Ginkgo Biloba

The classic fan-shaped leaf. No significant effect on AMS prevention across multiple clinical reviews. Common in this category anyway. Not in ours.

REMOVED

"EPO Boosters"

Not a real, sourceable ingredient. No legitimate supplement raises red blood cell production. Claims like this are why the category has a trust problem.

What we can't claim

Supplement evidence for altitude sickness is thin across the entire category — including our own product. Here's what the research actually supports, plainly.

Claims Audit — What The Evidence Shows ● Reviewed
Reliably reduces AMS incidenceNot supported — larger follow-up trial (n=83) found no benefit
Short-term antioxidant supportEarly signal only, not replicated at scale
Reduces nauseaWell-evidenced generally — not trialed at altitude specifically
Reliable AMS preventionOnly acetazolamide (Rx) — see a doctor

Four ingredients. Nothing hidden.

Why this exists

I started this after one too many runs and hikes where I underperformed despite training properly for them — and every "altitude" product on the shelf made the same vague promises with nothing real behind them. So we built the opposite: publish what we can actually prove, and cut what we can't. That included removing the ingredient we launched with, once a real trial showed it didn't hold up. If the evidence ever stops supporting something in this tablet, it comes out — no matter how good it looks on the label.
